luvnlife asked: so I'm confused.. thought you were doing your MBA. now you're doing med school too? wow, go girl! =)

Oh right, I probably should have clarified this! I guess I forget people might actually read my blog. Haha.

Well, medicine was always the dream. I started off my post-secondary education in a Biomedical Sciences program at York University. But after completing the first year, I transferred into a Kinesiology and Health Science program as it would allow me to focus more predominantly on the human body.  Finally in 3rd year, I was qualified to apply for med school but was flat out rejected from all 6 schools in Ontario.

Reapplying in my 4th year, I was interviewed at NOSM and Ottawa, but after the long agonizing months of waiting, it seemed I was wait-listed. Fortunately, I was placed on the “good” wait-list at Ottawa (which in previous years, practically everyone gets off the good wait-list). Unfortunately, I was not accepted off the wait-list.

Given that the application process for medical school takes a full school year, I felt the best way to broaden my knowledge was the explore the business aspect of medicine.  After being accepted on a full scholarship at Windsor, I completed my MBA here, while reapplying to medical school. Well, and dental school. Haha. (I’m not proud about doing it. I just I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and applied as my back-up.)

Now finally, after 3 attempts, 3 MCATs, and a lifetime of dedication, I have finally achieved the “dream” and will be moving home to attend medical school at U of T this fall. :)
